Experience:

  • Diploma: 4–5 years
  • ITI: 8–10 years (relevant toolmaking experience)
    Salary: ₹35,000 – ₹40,000/month (based on experience and skillset)
    Industry: Manufacturing / Automotive / Plastics / Engineering

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Tool Room Engineer with a strong background in tool and die making, especially for injection moulds and sheet metal components. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in tool room machining operations and be able to manage the end-to-end process from tool design to final assembly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and work from mould/tool design drawings provided by the design department
  • Plan machining processes for each tool element and assign tasks across various tool room machines
  • Operate or supervise operations on Wirecut, EDM, CNC VMC, CG, Jig Boring, and other conventional machines
  • Manage the workflow of tool parts across multiple machines and departments
  • Conduct dimensional inspections and ensure all machined parts meet specified tolerances
  • Hand over accurately machined parts to die/mould fitters for final assembly
  • Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with production timelines and quality standards
  • Create or modify technical drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Apply Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure manufacturing precision
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in tooling and machining processes

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Tool & Die Making from CIPET / CTR
    or
  • ITI in Tool & Die Making from a Government ITI

Desired Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of tool room machining operations
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings
  • Ability to work independently and lead machining workflow
  • Effective communication and coordination skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities
